Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Does this website include girls wrestling information?

  • Answer: No. Although we support and appreciate the girls wrestling program, his page is dedicated specifically to the boys wrestling team. The girls have their own distinct program, coach, budget, etc. just as boys/girls basketball have.

Question: Can my athlete participate in AHS wrestling if they are home schooled?

  • Answer: Yes. They have to get cleared by the athletic office. Please contact the AHS athletic office for details.

Question: Can my athlete participate in AHS practices during the season if they are in Middle School?

  • Answer: Unfortunately not. We have asked a few times, and have been specifically told that only AHS athletes can participate in official in-season practices

Question: Can my MS athlete participate in summer practices?

  • Answer: Yes, Post/Haller middle school wrestlers can join us for summer practices

Question: If my athlete has a skin infection, do I need the official form filled out by a licensed doctor?

  • Answer: Yes. A simple Doctor’s note will not be reviewed by an official. They must have the WIAA Skin form filled out. You can find the form in our documents page.

Question: To participate, do we have to purchase a singlet, warmups or other gear?

  • Answer: We issue out singlets and warmups to be returned each season. Some prefer to purchase their own singlet personalized with their name on the back, and additional swag, but is not required. However, we highly recommend purchasing your own wrestling shoes and headgear, but we do have loaners as well.

Question: Is there a fee to participate?

  • Answer: To participate in any sport, a student athlete must have an ASB card and pay the sports fee with the athletic office. Please contact the athletic office for further details.
